Noorul Huda Shah's poetry: Urdu Nazm 'Dil Chahta hai Ghaar-e-Ashaab-e-Kahf mein jaa kar so jaaoon'
This is Noorul Huda Shah's Nazm. Read it in Urdu, Roman and Devnagri scripts:
Now read it in Roman English script:
Dil chaahta hai
Ghaar-e-as'haab-e-kahaf* mein jaa kar so jaau.n
Jab neend se uthoo.n mera zamana guzar chuka ho
Mere sikke khoTe ho chuke ho.n
Meri baat koi na samajhta ho
Mujhe koi na jaanta ho...
Rab se poochhoo.n, 'bataa kahaan jaaoo.n'
Rab kahe, 'Tere zamaane ab nahi rahe'
Insaan sabhi mar chuke hain
Sirf hujoom zinda hai
Junoon zinda hai
Tu laut ja
Ghaar-e-as'haab-e-kahaf mein phir se so ja
Noorul Huda Shah
*As'haab-e-Kahf, असहाब-ए-कहफ़: The famous story about the men who went to the cave & mysteriously slept, only to come out in an era when everything had changed, hundreds of years had passed, they had a dog too. When people saw their dress, their currency, they wondered where they had come from. Read about Ashaab-e-Kahf. Photo courtesy Jeremy Bishop, Pexels.
